Checking in shares where you are with your friends (you control the privacy), lets you add photos, ratings, and a note, and counts toward badges and challenges. It's also how friends discover new spots — your check-ins show up in their Feed.
Yes! Go to Settings → Default Check-in Privacy to choose Friends Only or Public (public check-ins can show up in Discover). You can also change it for each check-in with the Public / Friends only switch when you post it.
Yes. On your own check-in, tap the ⋯ button and choose Edit or Delete. Edits update everywhere the check-in appears, and deleting also removes it from your friends' feeds.
Your check-in posts instantly and the photo uploads in the background, so on a slower connection you may see a placeholder for a few seconds. It appears automatically once the upload finishes — there's no need to re-post.
Yes. If you check in while offline, Drink$ queues it (a banner shows how many are waiting) and posts it automatically once you're back online — so you won't lose it.
When you check in, tap the stars under How was it? to rate the venue, and the special too if you're checking in at one. Your ratings help friends and other people find the best spots and deals.
Open a check-in from the Feed and tap Comment to reply, or Cheers to raise a glass. The person who posted gets a notification (based on their settings).
While creating a check-in, tap Tag Friends and pick who you're with. Tagged friends get a notification, and they're shown on the check-in.
Open the check-in, tap the ⋯ button, and choose Report Check-in. Reports go straight to our admins to review against the community guidelines. To stop seeing someone entirely, you can also block them.
